Even when I had the equipment to do so, the thought never occurred to me. But this afternoon, as I was again slaving away at work, PECO once again made its prescence felt. For those of you outside of Iloilo, PECO is short for Patay, oops sorry, Panay Electric Company.

For the past few months, Ilonggos have been dreaming of doing violent things against the power company, and especially its owners for the hours of power outages Iloilo have been experiencing.

Anyway, going back to the topic at hand, I was bored and started listening to some tracks. After a few minutes, and because of PECO, I found myself trying to come up with a mix.

I tell you, this is not one of the cleanest mixes you will hear. The sound levels are a bit off, the mixing is not that fluid, and the mp3 files are not of top quality. But then again, I had fun doing it. And I hope you will enjoy listening to it.

Track starts with an old favorite of mine which talks about mushrooms, and ends with a sample from Bobby Caldwell.

Download Iloilo Afterhours ( The House Guest ) It builds up nicely track-by-track, maintaining momentum and then slowing things down a bit in the middle, then building back up again. My only real complaint is the final track, "Lost," which uses the auto-tuned voice effect in one of the most annoying ways possible. (Had it been done with a sense of humor and became more of a parody of the auto-tune phenom, I may have given it more credit). But these days, an album that has nine songs I like and can listen to, and one that I loathe, well, that's better than most.

The opening track "Rebirth' is a great build-up opener. It takes almost two minutes to finally get into the track itself, but when it does it lets you know exactly what the album has in store. (5/5)

The second track, the most rock oriented track on the album, "Turn the Lights Out," is sure to be a favorite. It's fun, it's got great hooks and a catchy chorus, and the energy is almost palpable. What's not to like? This is the song I can see my friends and I listening to on some road trip mix blasting out of the car, all of us singing along. (5/5)

"M.A.D." takes things into the bass-heavy electro-rock-grime area that most of the rest of the album stays in, but underneath the aggressive beats there's a sense of humor, and that may be what I love most about Hadouken! As serious as they may sound, it's all in fun. (5/5)

"Evil" is pure electronic bass madness. This is the first of the "club-songs." Songs that I can see being played night after night in a club with people rocking and dancing to it. Not one of my favorite songs on the album, but not bad at all either. It's just exactly what it is; no more, no less. (4/5)

"House Is Falling" is where the album takes a turn toward something different. The previous four tracks maintain the momentum I was talking about, this one slows it down. But it's still got catchy hooks, and a catchy beat, and it still builds up just right. However, the cleanly sung vocals tend to put it more in line with Julien-K than with The Prodigy. (5/5)

"Mic Check" is one of the few tracks I think is disposable. It's still fun and catchy, but sounds too much like something I've heard a million times before to really get into it. Most albums have "filler" tracks, this is one of those tracks. (3/5)

"Ugly" is the first of two The Prodigy sounding tracks (like something off of "Music for the Jilted Generation"). While I definitely think Hadouken! has their own sound and isn't ripping anyone in particular off completely, I also believe they wear their influences on their sleeve, especially on these next two tracks. But it's still quite enjoyable. (4/5)

"Bombshock" is the other Prodigy-ish song, (more like "Fat of the Land" era), and one of the highlights of the album, just because the music is so addictive. By this point in the album, you're caught up in it, and so "Bombshock" just lives and breathes what these guys are about so much that it's hard not to let it take you away on it's beat. (5/5)

"Play the Night" is an odd song. The musical influences are all over the place and so it's hard to nail down just one piece and examine it, and the lyrics are sort of goofy, but it's still fun to listen to. This song just doesn't have as much going for it as any of the previous tracks (with the exception of "Mic Check"). (3/5)

And then we have "Lost," the auto-tune nightmare. Musically, I love the track. But as soon as the vocals kick in it just grates on my nerves. I don't understand the fascination with sounding like a runover robot chipmunk, especially since on "House Is Falling" you can hear his singing voice, and it's good. Anyway, a terrible letdown of an ending to this album, in my opinion. (1/5)

However, there's a bonus track available for download (I think through iTunes), called "Retaliate" that's an all instrumental track that makes a great closer. My advice is, go download that and when you set your playlist, just leave off "Lost" and replace it with "Retaliate" and then you've got yourself a pretty good album.

I like "For the Masses" because I like electronic music. If you don't, then this may not be for you. It's not necessarily as good as The Prodigy (which is the closest mainstream artist I can think of to compare them to), but evokes the same feeling when I listen to them. Critics (I've read the reviews) tend to get caught up on analyzing lyrics and whether the musical composition is going to change the world, and completely miss the point of why people listen to electronic music.

If you like beats, bass, having a good time and not caring what others think about it, partying 'till the sun comes up, and just like having fun while listening to your music, then I recommend you check this out.

The PodCraSSSh! It should be hot property if this release is anything to go by.
Produced by Bonobo aka Simon Green, it’s a laid back and beautifully relaxed affair with a lightness of touch on the drums, acoustic guitars and double bass – pitching it somewhere between Bill Withers and Nick Drake. Triana’s vocals fit like a glove with this kind of backing as she takes her time over every line, growing over the choruses until her melody is joined by strings on a rousing middle eight. It’s delicious stuff, and if you prefer an even more pared-down version, the single comes with an acoustic version that let’s the melody shine through even clearer.
The presence of LA beat wizard Flying Lotus on the remix makes “Lost Where I Belong” an even more essential purchase. With Triana having already lent her dulcet tones to Fly-Lo’s “Tea Leaf Dancers”, the favour gets returned here as he jumbles the ingredients into a psychedelic stew, adding some cool vibrato to the strings as well as throwing in harps and off-kilter drum hits into the mix too. It’s easy to see why Fly-Lo has attracted such a legion of fans (recent collaborator Thom Yorke included), and he certainly won’t disappoint anyone yet another exquisite treatment.
<object style="height: 344px; Instead of becoming just another Danger Mouse collaboration saturated with samples, every instrument was played and recorded in the studio.

Mercer went through some evolution for this record as well. Although his work on the Shins' records often required high register vocals, his voice breaks into the falsetto range on Broken Bells as well as dropping into the lower depths of his capability.

Where many collaboration albums often fall into a competition for influence, Mercer and Burton embrace each other's strengths which results in an extremely well balanced blend of the two artists' styles. The first track, "The High Road," opens sounding very much like another Gorillaz track. This should come as no surprise since Danger Mouse produced their second record, but after twenty five seconds of waiting for Damon Albarn's trademark vocals, the music transitions into a track much more comparable to the Shins' previous releases.

On the following track, "Vaporize," Mercer is given the introduction before Burton's influence fades into the mix.

Easily the catchiest song on the album, "The Ghost Inside" is Danger Mouse's only true feature song. With a beat resembling that of "Kids With Guns" on the Gorillaz album Demon Days, and falsetto vocals reminiscent of Burton's other major project, Gnarls Barkley, "The Ghost Inside" is as close as Broken Bells gets to a club worthy hit. Even though Mercer's vocals are not as distinctive on this track as they are on the rest of the album, his presence is still felt and the final verse loses the falsetto, giving Mercer's voice a chance to shine.

Time will tell if Mercer and Burton join forces for a follow up to this incredible debut, but their chemistry is undeniable. Broken Bells is a short record, ringing in at less than forty minutes, but there isn't a single track that hasn't been carefully crafted by the two artists. Mercer's distinct voice over a live Danger Mouse instrumentation is enough to engage anyone who has enjoyed past work by either artist and if it does turn out to be the duo's only release, it will not be forgotten.

Glowing in the dark

Groove Armada follow up 2007's groovy hip Hop/Dub-inflected Dance CD "Soundboy Rock" with "Black Light". Out go big-voiced soul divas like Candi Staton and Angie Stone (who loaned their voices to a few tracks) and in comes a poppier guitar, more Eurodisco sound. Both albums could have been recorded by different groups.

With no instrumentals or ballads (like Soundboy Rock's "Save my soul", "What's your version" or "From the rooftops"), the mood is sunny and upbeat.

Opening is the guitar driven Alt Rock/Pop "Look me in the eye sister", followed by the droning falsetto-sung "Fall silent" with Nick Littlemore from Empire Of The Sun who also appears on the anthemic "Not forgotten" (with a snarling performance this time), the buzzing "Cards to your heart" (with spoken/sung lyrics), and on the Prodigy-style "Warsaw" with additional vocals by Saintsaviour.

"Just for tonight" is a charming Indie Pop ditty with jangly guitars and strings, while "I won't kneel" has a chorus that sounds like ABBA (vocals by Saintsaviour).

The clubbier numbers start from midway into the album; the electrifying "Paper romance", the outstanding "Shameless" (with some spoken French and crooned aching vocals by Bryan Ferry), "Time and space" (with swirling effects), and the closing hypnotic "History" with Will Young turning in a Jimmy Sommerville-style robotic falsetto to a slutty Disco backdrop. Awesome!

I like the sonic diversity on this album and though different from its predecessor, it is every bit as rich and good.

Iloilo Afterhours Vol. 1 with The Spook

Iloilo Afterhours Vol.1 with The Spook is the newest podcast released by the Aftersyx Crew. I was expecting a narrator like on Hold Your Colour's prelude but it does it's job hyping us up for an adventure. After, we're treated to "Salt in the Wounds". Is it just me or does this sound like recycled version of "Slam" and "Blood Sugar"? While listening to this, I thought it was a poor choice to include this in the album and that it belonged as a bonus track on Hold Your Color. Thankfully, "Watercolur", the album's first single pulled me from the cliff. This song's awesome and feels 5x more welcoming after "Genesis". Frontman, Rob Swire vocals are a great addition to the band. Now, let's say "Salt in the Wounds" didn't exist on the album but either way, "Set Me on Fire" keeps the energy running undisturbed. If you have a good pair of headphones or sound system, you'll appreciate the production so much. "Crush", "Under the Waves" and "Immunize" leads us to a twist of Immersion.

Pendulum surprises us with a concept duo, "The Island, Pt I (Dawn)" and "The Island, Pt II (Dusk)". These will land you on two planets in less than 10 minutes. Dawn is a relaxed house track while Dusk rises you as electro house. The Dusk version is definitely a song to get clubs jumping, DJs. Next is "Comprachicos". I love this track so much because it has Nine Inch Nails written all over it-I thought it was Trent Reznor on it! I honor Pendulum's appreciation for industrial music. This is definitely one to to listen for. "The Vulture" has to be performed live. It HAS to. Kudos to Pendulum's MC, Ben Mount for his energizing mood in this song and I hope to hear more from him in the future. But do you know what's the biggest surprise this album has? "Self Vs. Self".

This track is a melodic metal song featuring In Flames who's known to be one the pioneers of the genre that blew me away. When it played, I thought, "Whoa. What's this I'm hearing?" This has got to be one of the best metal songs I've ever heard and I'd be interested in what metalheads would hate about it. This is another major thing I'd like to hear more from Pendulum because they struck gold for this first time. After this track, Immersion ends with "The Fountain" and "Encoder" perfectly.

I was pleasantly surprised by Immersion. Still, I want to point out the fact "Salt in the Wounds" keeps this album from being perfect but with that said, you'll still get an eargasm. Get immersed.

Immersion's Report Card - B+

Top 5 Songs-

5. The Fountain

4. The Island, Pt. I & II

3. Set Me on Fire

2. Comprachicos

1. Self Vs. Self (ft. In Flames)

Honorable Mentions-

The Vulture, Witchcraft and Crush.

Ninja Tune XX (Limited Edition Box Set Various Artists Limited Edition Box Set 05/10

Coming Soon.. This puts it ahead of traditional creative hot spots such as Manchester, Sheffield and Liverpool.

Massive Attack's Daddy G said despite the city's association with the slave trade, Bristol's multi cultural population has helped create an interesting music scene: "There's a huge West Indian population in Bristol, which is really amazing because it's helped influence the sound and the textures of Bristol.

"We started off as the Wild Bunch playing in St Paul's, which is the heavily dominated West Indian area. These figures were then weighted by population, leaving London at number 26, despite the capital having the most musicians living in it.

Ellis Rich, chairman of PRS, said: "Bristol has been a longstanding contributor to the British music scene, constantly injecting its unique pizzazz of trip-hop and rock bands.

"The city's culture has always warmed to an eclectic music dynamic, paving the way forward for many of the country's greatest venues whilst also inspiring a hotbed of music talent."

The researchers who collected data for the PRS survey found that music is "engrained into the culture" of the city, with the Clifton cider pub, the Coronation Tap, being voted the UK Music Pub of The Year for two years running.

Portishead's Geoff Barrow said Bristol is home to a long line of forward thinking artists: "If you look at the musicians that came out of Bristol traditionally, whether it was The Pop Group or Mark Stuart and the Maffia it was pretty out there and interesting."

New Warp signings Hundred in the Hands talk to FACT

Electronic vets Warp Records recently announced the signing of a new band, Brooklyn’s The Hundred in the Hands.

Jason Friedman and Eleanore Everdell are the two members of the band, who came to our attention last year on the strength of ‘Dressed in Dresden’, a stone cold killer single for Pure Groove that was backed with a remix by DFA’s Jacques Renault.

Warp clearly agreed, and promptly snapped them up, with a ‘Dressed in Dresden’ remixes 12″ due out April 5, which features Detroit wonderkid Kyle Hall, Various Production and Maxime, and a six-track EP of new material titled This Desert due for a May 17 release.

There will also be a full length in Autumn, which promises “deeper explorations” of the duo’s sound, which takes in French pop, disco, dub, post-punk and more.

We actually spoke to the pair in April of last year, a conversation which was never published online. So we thought it was about time to get back in touch with some follow-up questions, and publish the whole lot.

“It’s a fiery process guaranteed to dissolve into bickering at some point before we get to where we want to be.”

Questions from April 2009: Hundred in the Hands – who does what in the partnership?

“We split things pretty evenly. Eleanore sings and plays the synth parts, I handle the guitars and programming of the beats but we both work on the overall arrangement and one of us will write the bulk of the lyrics with the other looking over their shoulder helping to tidy it up.

“The thing that’s great about working together is that we really come from different angles and we make something that we wouldn’t be capable of making on our own. But, neither of us are used to writing with a collaborator and we’re both used to being the one in charge so at times we’ll think of the other as just an unruly and uncontrollable bit of our own brain and it’s a fiery process guaranteed to dissolve into bickering at some point before we get to where we want to be.”

How does the creative process work in the studio, and live?

“It varies a little depending on who brought the song in but generally, I’m in charge of establishing the energy and feel of the track and Eleanore will be focused on building up the harmonic structure. We’ll work on the tracks separately and together.

“Recently we’ve done a bunch with Jacques Renault at his home studio. Jacques is a music school kid like Eleanore but he’s also got a great sense of making a vibe and a big collection of records to dig into for inspiration so, it really helps to have him around to offer a third opinion.

“Live we like all the songs running together. We’re really focused on the energy. Where is it coming from and how do we keep that going? Or move it from this place to the next? We made a conscious decision to avoid having a laptop on stage and instead we run all the beats and samples from an MPC into our own little sound system. It’s not really a sound system like the Jamaican sound systems or the Herculoids but I’m pretty obsessed with Afrika Bambaata and the birth of hip-hop and Dancehall etc. so the idea of it makes me happy. There just seems to be something a bit more exciting about having this live sound coming from the stage with a real physicality and not reliant on the house sound. This means some tricky navigations though trying to keep up with playing guitar or synths and triggering everything in real-time but then at a certain point, as a performer, I think you just have to let go and let it do what it wants.

“We’re thinking maybe we’ll bring in a live drummer to play along too.”

Where did the name come from?

“It’s the name of a battle and major victory for the Native Americans fighting on the plains in the mid 1800’s. Crazy Horse was a part of it and, as the story goes, the outcome was predicted the night before by a shaman who rode in and out of the warriors’ camp declaring that he had too many enemies to carry in his hands. In the battle, close to a hundred Bluecoat soldiers were killed.”

What bands/artists from both the past and present have influenced your sound/vision/approach?

“Besides being really into early hip-hop and all things dub/Studio One ska related, we’re really into Young Marble Giants and Wire and really, as you’d expect, that whole era of post-punk. But really it’s pretty all over the shop with a big interest in Girl Groups and mod classics, New Order and the Cure, De La Soul and Buddy Holly. Broadcast, Gang Gang Dance, LCD, Francois Hardy and the Zombies and lately the new bands we’ve been psyched on are our neighbors like The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Crystal Stilts, Wild Yaks, Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson or similar acts like Nite Jewel and Beach House and things further a field like the cryptic black label minimal techno Pom Pom 12”’s.”

What have you brought with you from your days with The Boggs?

“Strong lessons on what no to do.”

Your debut single has been remixed by Jacques Renault – do you feel part of the whole NY DFA/Brooklyn scene?

“Well, yes and no. I’ve known Jacques for a really long time and I used to be roommates with Mattie from The Rapture in their DFA days and there’s definitely a lot of sharing of ideas going on and familiarity, and lending and ear but I’d say the DFA thing is really just a corner of our scene and we feel really broadly connected to a lot of the things coming out of New York. Obviously, Eleanore has her connections to the whole TV on the Radio circle and I’ve been as or more likely to be hanging around the sweaty DIY garage punk loft parties as sticky disco-house clubs. Everything sort of overlaps but at the same time, everyone is doing their thing and traveling a lot so there isn’t really a proper scene in the sense one might expect. It’s just nice when things work out and schedules are free enough to work with people and hear all the different things they’re working on.”
Follow up questions from this month: so you’ve signed to Warp. How did that happen?

“We came over to play some shows in England last spring and started talking to Warp then. Warp is such an incredible label and they really backed us and gave us the time to make the songs we wanted to make. So, after we signed we spent all of last summer writing and then began recording through the fall. Everyone has been amazing at the label.”

What do you have planned for the rest of the year, and beyond?

“Playing shows and playing more shows. We’re rehearsing for it all now. Our first NY show is April 6 and then we head to Europe for a bunch of dates with London on the 27th and again on May 1st and we’re sort of planning on just touring for the rest of the year after that.”

Is there an album in the pipeline?

“Yes! Warp have sworn us to secrecy about the details but we recorded so much last year and decided we weren’t going to release any of it until we really had the record we wanted. It’s funny because for so long we’ve had the one song out in the world and now we have lots of tracks ready to go.”

If so, what can we expect stylewise/thematically? Is Jacques Renault involved? Anyone else?

“There’s definitely a few things that are more in the Jacques mode, but also things that branch out a little further into other territories. We listen to a lot of 60’s mod and garage, post-punk classics like Young Marble Giants, Wire, The Cure, New Order; classic Disco; vintage hip-hop; and loads of Studio 1/Trojan era ska & dub and I think a lot of that merges in what we write. There’s a whole batch of tracks that we think of as having a more summer on the stoop-vibe. They’re more dubbed out, gauzy and ethereal. And then there’s a whole other batch that are maybe more pulled together, sharper; night-music, avant-pop.”

THE SWELL SEASON

The Swell Season, the Oscar-winning duo of Frames frontman Glen Hansard and Czech ingenue Marketa Irglova, are putting the finishing touches on 'Strict Joy,' (Oct 27/Anti- Records), the follow-up to their beloved, surprise hit 2007 film and gold-certified soundtrack 'Once.' The twelve new, original songs on 'Strict Joy' were recorded last year and document a time of great change and tumult.

'Strict Joy,' which borrows its name from a work by Irish poet James Stephens, was co-produced by Hansard and Peter Katis (The National, Interpol), and recorded mostly at Katis' Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, CT. In addition to Hansard and Irglova, the album features Frames members Colm Mac Iomaire (violin), Joe Doyle (bass), Rob Bochnik (guitar), plus guitarist Javier Mas (Leonard Cohen), pianist Thomas Bartlett (Doveman), percussionist Chad Taylor (Chicago Underground Duo), horn players Steven Bernstein and Clark Gayton from Levon Helm's band, and others. The Swell Season generated a wave of acclaim during the 2008 awards season including two Grammy nominations and an Oscar win for Best Original Song, for their hit single "Falling Slowly." The duo performed the song on the Oscars telecast, and Irglova provided one of the most memorable and poignant moments of the evening when host Jon Stewart called her back to the stage after a commercial break to give her acceptance speech.

The success of 'Once' also led to a sold out world tour for The Swell Season which was captured for an upcoming documentary. Hansard and Irglova will tour the U.S. extensively again this fall with dates to be announced soon.

for more info visit: http://www.anti.com/catalog/view/140/Strict_Joy

Andreya Triana - Lost Where I Belong

The debut single from Andreya Triana's forthcoming album (of the same name) is produced by Simon Green aka Bonobo. As demonstrated by numerous self-booked tours including stints at SXSW and CMJ, Harlem have a reputation of making club gigs seem like living room shows (and living room shows feel like club shows).

Hippies harnesses this energy in its 16 blasts of pure pop energy with a new dimension of songwriting that is as tightly masterful as it is true to a joyfully frantic primitivism.Recorded at the Distillery in Costa Mesa, CA with the assistance of Mike McHugh, Hippies is more refined and cleaner record than it's predecessor (the self released Free Drugs) with a classically iconoclastic sound that in eras-past, was achieved by The Gories, The Standells, Dead Moon, The Kinks and The Pixies. The songwriting and vocal duties on Hippies are evenly shared by Coomers (nee Michael Coomer) and Curtis O'Mara —who switch between guitar/vox and drums on stage (and off) alongside newly-added bassist Jose Boyer. Harlem is set to tour vigorously across the nation and play the shit out of SXSW.

Anané Anané's World

Close your eyes for a moment and picture a paradise where house, reggae, rock, r&b and soul all meet on a single Caribbean disco plane. The sultry songstress boils many different flavors into a single pot, serving up a dish of delicious grooves and diverse melodies. But soon it should also bring to mind the music of a new two-piece electro-dance outfit. Jamaica the band features French-born Antoine Hilaire and Flo Lyonnet playing tracks centered around grooving bass lines, melodic electric and acoustic guitar riffs, and heavy beats. As Hilaire explained in an e-mail, the group formed out of the wreckage of another band called Poney Poney.

What happened to Poney Poney?

Our drummer, Sam, left the band, and Flo and I decided to keep on making music. New songs came up, and we got Xavier [De Rosnay of Justice] and Peter [J. Franco, sound engineer for Daft Punk], our producers, on board. Starting from scratch was extremely motivating.

Why did you guys go with the name Jamaica?
We were looking for a name that evokes cool things. Plus there's a tradition of bands named after countries or cities, and that's a bunch you want to be part of: America, Boston, Chicago or Japan. Also, if you mix [together] names like Nirvana, Oasis and Madonna, you can eventually come up with Jamaica.

Were there really no synthesizers used in your recording sessions?

It's all about guitar, bass, drums and some piano and Wurlitzer. The rest is just playing skills and production tools.

Jamaica shot a video for its single, "I Think I Like U 2," which traces a fake band history from childhood best friends to the group's fictional fall from international fame. Check out the video on Jamaica's website, and stay tuned for its as-yet-untitled debut LP, which is slated for release this August. Hilaire, for one, is sure that listeners in the United States will be quite pleased with it.

"Our scientific internet evaluation tools tell us that it's mostly American citizens who listen to our music," Hilaire writes. "That's great since we mostly listen to American music."

www.jamaicanoproblem.fm

BONOBO NOW PLAYING

<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456457434178932242" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XHy3gserXb8/S7k7IHhGThI/AAAAAAAAAOU/Pf6ud_wwXNc/s320/front.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; True to his word, the pumpkins vocalist two days after announced on the same site that a new Smahing Pumkins album is on the works.

Here is his announcement taken from smashingpumkins.com.

I'm happy to finally announce the plans for the new Smashing Pumpkins album.

Recording began yesterday, September 15th, 2009 on the new record which will be entitled 'Teargarden by Kaleidyscope'. The album will feature 44 songs, 4 of which are now being recorded. My desire is to release a song at a time beginning around Halloween of this year, with each new release coming shortly after until all 44 are out. Each song will be made available absolutely for free, to anyone anywhere. There will be no strings attached. Free will mean free, which means you won't have to sign up for anything, give an email address, or jump through a hoop. You will be able to go and take the song or songs as you wish, as many times as you wish.

We will however sell highly limited edition EP's (of 4 songs each times 11), and details of how those EP's will be made available are still being worked out. Because the songs themselves will be free, the EP's will be more like collectors items for the discerning fan who will want the art itself, along with the highest possible audio quality available. The EP's will be more like mini-box sets rather than your normal cd single. We may also offer other variations for sale, say for example a digital single with a demo version of a song. The commitment that is most important is the one I'm making to you: that the music of 'Teargarden by Kaleidyscope' will be available for free to everyone. All 44 songs: free for ALL.

When the entire album is finished, it will be compiled into a deluxe box set which will also be made available for sale. Those who have bought the EP's need not worry, as the box set will not be a recompilation of the limited edition pieces.

The story of the album is based on 'The Fool's Journey', as signified in the progress of the Tarot. It is my intention to approach this by breaking down the journey of our life here into four phases as made by these different characters; the Child, the Fool, the Skeptic, and the Mystic.

The music of 'Teargarden by Kaleidyscope' harkens back to the original psychedelic roots of The Smashing Pumpkins: atmospheric, melodic, heavy, and pretty.

I already have 53 songs written for the record, so I am quite confident that I already have much of the material that I would need to undertake such an extensive project. I am very committed to seeing this album through to its completion and very, very excited about the prospect of delivering new Smashing Pumpkins music to you in a unique and exciting way.

SSS Records

SSS Records will be coming up with an all new FREE online compilation album to be released this coming December as sort of a Christmas offering. This autobiographical work about his life as a teenager in New York is an edited collection of diaries he kept between the ages of twelve and sixteen that talks about his sexual experiences, basketball, and his addiction to heroin at a tender age of 13.

He was working at his desk when he passed away.

Sturya-sturya Sessions webcast

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 182px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eUnfWxXGeKo/Sq7AbSVcnfI/AAAAAAAAAMo/KZpLkjmHiAA/s200/sturya+thumb.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381450179765116402" />
Every week, Reymundo, Harren, Arthur & friends chill out, have a cup of coffee, and just talk about what has been going on in Iloilo City and discuss various topics; basically just anything under the sun, all in the weekly audio podcast / free form talk show known as Sturya-Sturya Sessions. During the early 90's a handful of free thinking Ilonggo musicians and artists got together to form what was to become Iloilo City's unquestioned music outfit. Founded by Nervagasm and Lightsleeper, Sensimilla Underground was born.

Through out the years, the crew has garnered praises both localy and abroad for original works in the feild of electronic music. Now under the name HOTBOXRP RECORDS, the members of the outfit grew as more people got involved with the organization and its advocacy. That is to push the bounderies of music in the Philippine archipelago.

In early 2000, HotboxRP launched sub labels in order to target specific genres of music. One of those labels is Aftersyx Records. Headed by The Spook, Aftersyx Records was set to target the downtempo market. As years went by, the people behind Aftersyx stopped producing original content and concentrated on playing at sunset events around the Visayas area.

Late 2007, The Spook was joined by SpaceCore and ventured into the label's first entry into cyberspace with downtempo podcasts under the name Aftersyx Sessions. And after a few months of possitive reactions from internet users both here and abroad, The Aftersyx crew launched what was to become Iloilo City's first online underground internet radio. And as they say, the rest is history.

Aftersyx Radio, though started with purely electonic materials, now has branched out to other genres of music, but still stayed true to its roots in trying to introduce new music.

Schedule

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px;
